About Me

I’ve been writing my whole life for fun.  Sometimes it’s more fun than others.

I’ve recently started seeking an agent for my first novel worth publishing.  (We won’t talk about the virtual drawer bursting with practice novels.) I also write short stories, some of which are available on the internet, journal entries which sometimes become blog posts, notes to myself on post-its, and a junk journal full of other people’s quotes. Oh, and I like to read pretty much anything.

I write horror, fantasy, romance, and young adult, but love mixing up genres with interesting characters in weird situations.  I write a lot about mental health and self-acceptance, and those themes tend to find their way into my stories.

My favorite things in life are my dogs, reading, writing, and hiking.  I love music and almost always have something playing, but what it is can range from the Rolling Stones to Taylor Swift, depending on my mood.

Here’s a relatively short but incomplete list of my favorite books:

Watership Down, by Richard Adams

Watchers, by Dean Koontz

Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen

Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte

Firestarter, by Stephen King

Where the Heart Is, by Billie Letts

The Forbidden Game trilogy, by LJ Smith

Remember Me, by Christopher Pike

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, by Lewis Carroll

The Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum

Beautiful Disaster, by Jamie McGuire
