Quickfic Anthology 2 published!

Hello everyone! Just a short note to let you know that Quickfic’s second anthology of really short stories has been released, and yours truly has a story featured in the anthology. The story is a reprint of First Date, so if you’ve already read that story when it was featured in Blood and Roses, then there’s nothing new of mine. But I’m sure there are other great stories in the collection. I’ll let you know once I read them.

New Story Published!!

safe_image.phpI know I promised to tell you all about Alaska, but I’ve been waiting for this story to be published for a while, so you can wait a couple more days (sorry!).  Scarlett River Press just published Blood & Roses, a horror anthology about love.  Doree Weller’s story, First Date, comes in at lucky number 13.  So far, it’s only available as an ebook on Smashwords, but I’m hoping it comes out in other formats soon.  It’s only $5.99, and you get 23 stories.

Scarlett River Press and Jo-Anne Russell are also offering Rigorous Mortis: A Mortician’s Tales, another anthology, for FREE.  It’s not contingent on buying Blood & Roses or anything.  Just follow the link and using coupon code SH52V.  This offer expires August 29.

New Story Published!

I have a new story published on In Between Altered States.  It’s a series of flash fiction stories posted under a particular theme.  This month’s theme was “Deconstructed.”  It’s not my usual thing; normally I don’t really like doing flash fiction, which is basically very short fiction.  I find flash fiction to be confusing because it’s often symbolic with language meant to evoke emotions more than tell an actual story.  Still, the stories on the site are fun, so check them out.  And mine too, of course.  😉  It’s called Questions Without Answers.

Oh, and Happy 4th of July, of course!

New Story Published- Veronica

I interrupt our regularly scheduled blog post to inform you that I’ve had a new story published online.  The story is called “Veronica,” and it’s about a woman of the same name who believes that she has a mission from God, until she meets a man who undermines the way she thinks.  This is one of my all time favorite stories of mine, so check it out.
